Listed in September 2022, the W-shaped house in Carpenter Close north of the CBD has sold for $1.92 million.

As we reported at the time of listing, the amount of home on the block is greater than the entire land size of many properties in the city.

The block size is 2,000 square metres and the house that sits on it is a stonking 488 square metres.

You know there is going to be a whole lot of house when a property is split into an east wing and a west wing.

Just plop my drink down here, thanks. realestate.com.au

The agent listing states that the house has a northern aspect and rural views.

Carpenter Close is described as "an exclusive blue chip address".

The house is designed in the shape of what might be described as a Digital W - or is it a V with an al fresco protrusion? - with a middle section linking the two wings.

Along the west wing are a double garage, linen closet, storage, bedroom, gym, coat room, bathroom, media room, laundry, pantry and the main entrance.

The middle section houses a living room, dining room, kitchen and alfresco area.

On the second side of the V - the east wing - are linen storage, an office, a rumpus room with bathroom, and three bedrooms, including the master, each with en suite and walk-in robes.

The house is surrounded by established gardens and "lush lawns" and there is a heated swimming pool with outdoor shower.

Two separate ducted reverse cycle air conditioning units each have their own zoning, and the west wing can be completely shut off from the rest of the house.

There is solar (10kw), a shed and a 33,000-litre tank.

The price guide for the property was not made public by the agents.

While W-shaped homes are rare, buyers with a more modest budget could have got themselves into a V-shaped, five-bedroom house on Franklin Road for $625,000. It sold on March 16.
