A new menu will be in place when a chicken takeaway opens a pop-up store in Orange in about a week.

The Choox charcoal chicken shop, formerly in the Summer Centre at the top end of Summer Street, will open a temporary shop at 41 Sale Street between Spilt Milk and two real estate agencies.

In recent years the site has housed Dutch Embassy cafe, the original Gracie Burger and, most recently, Thar Indian.

The shop had been pretty much stripped and was being repainted on Friday.

The former Choox location on the outside of the Summer Centre will become part of Italian restaurant Pellegrini's.

Choox will ultimately move, in a month or so, to another site at the Summer Centre fronting onto the car park.

The pop-up on Sale Street will not be selling charcoal chickens, manager Santosh KC told The Orange News Examiner on Friday, due to the logistics of moving the large charcoal rotisserie.

He said that the menu would consist of burgers, pork ribs, salads and wings. The latter will be available in a number of varieties including honey and soy, buffalo, buttermilk and chilli.

It is expected to open in a little over a week.
